Sleep Nation - Headlights

I'm elated to share Nashville alt rock duo Sleep Nation's outstanding new single, "Headlights". Though they hail from the country music capital of the world, Joey Lauretta and Bran Merritt are rock 'n' rollers through and through. "Headlights" was released on April 2nd and made its debut on Apple Music "New Rock".
Their classic rock influences shine through on this track, whose lyrics name-check Buddy Holly and his hit “That’ll Be the Day.” Sonically, Merritt’s modernized take on Cochran’s story of a young lover who loses his partner in a car crash has more in common with Pearl Jam’s chart-topping cover than it does with the original cut. Its minor, bluesy feel provides a much more fitting backdrop for such somber subject matter.
